the happenings...

Okay, here goes an entry, for my friend Amanda...since I have never really written...  I just got back from a mission trip to Honduras last weekend.  It was amazing, life changing...like nothing I had ever seen before.  I remember talking to my friend about how I could describe it to my family and friends when I got back home, and we decided there wasn't really a way to do it.  But, I can tell you what we did...we got to play with kids at an orphanage, dig a latrine, put up some light posts, pour a concrete floor for a family who only had a dirt floor, and deliver beds to kids that needed them.  We also got to see some things in Honduras, like Predisan, a Christian healthcare clinic, the Cave of Bones, and did some shopping in the Valley of the Angels.  All in all it was a fabulous week.  Definitely hard to come back to the teaching job...

As for my job, my eyes are being opened daily as I experience teaching at a high school.  I feel kind of like a fish out of water- definitely not prepared for teaching high school students in general, and especially not subjects like Pre-Calculus!  Oh well, this too shall pass... though I have to say, the two planning periods at the end of the day really seem to balance out the situation!

Next step, trying to decide about grad school, and where to go from here for the fall!  I really want to try having my own classroom for next year, and get back to being a student myself!  We'll see what happens!

ciao for now...

Ciao!  Well, my friend Amanda is the one who finally got me to sign up and do this...  I had been thinking about it for a while, but since she joined, I guess I will too!  Not sure exactly what I will be saying on this, but we'll see...
